Designing the tools behind last-mile delivery.

Boosmap runs last-mile logistics. As Product Designer I worked across the whole operation: I completely redesigned the Booster app for drivers, designed the internal worker platform and a tool for the finance team, and designed the shipment tracking page on my own. The tracking is still live on Boosmap's site today.

Boosmap worker payment status dashboard shown on a laptop

Worker payments: drivers and operators see the same truth about what's been paid, and when.

Two audiences, one operation.

Operators coordinated deliveries from an internal platform; drivers ran their day from a mobile app. Both had grown feature by feature, and the seams showed. Internal flows were convoluted, and drivers' most frequent questions (my routes, my payments, my details) took too many steps to answer.

Designed with drivers, remotely.

During the pandemic I ran remote interviews and usability tests with real drivers and operators. Watching people use the actual flows exposed where the tools created work instead of removing it.

  • Payments were the anxiety point. Drivers checked payment status constantly; it had to be one glance, not a search.
  • Workarounds were hidden requirements. Every operator workaround pointed at a gap the platform needed to close.

Four products, one designer.

I owned research, flows, wireframes, UI and testing across four products:

  • The Booster app. A complete redesign of the app drivers use to run their deliveries.
  • The internal worker platform. Where operators manage drivers, their details and their payment status.
  • A finance tool. Designed for the finance team's day-to-day work.
  • The shipment tracking page. 100% my design, and still live today.

Before

Worker payment status table before the redesign, with eleven dense columns

After

Worker payment status after the redesign, with filters, avatars and row actions

Worker payments: eleven dense columns became a scannable list with filters, clear status and direct actions.

Before

Worker information form before the redesign, one long form

After

Worker information after the redesign, organised into tabs

Worker information: one long form split into tabs, so operators only see what the task needs.

Shipment tracking, designed 100% by me.

I owned the tracking project from start to finish: the experience that tells people where their delivery is and who is bringing it. It is still featured on Boosmap's technology page today.

Less friction on both sides.

Simpler flows for operators, direct answers for drivers, and a research practice that kept real users in the loop even when everything went remote.
